Natural Wonders of The World : Laguna Colorada in Bolivia

Laguna Colorado or Red Lagoon is a shallow salt lake area and one of the most attractive natural wonders of the world. It is in the south west of the altiplano of Bolivia within Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve and almost close to Chile. The famous lake is a source of inspiration and contains borax islands which are heavily based on colors contrasts with the reddish color of its waters caused by the basic constituents like red sediments and pigmentation of some algae.

The location can be easily explored because the lake is the breeding point for famous flamingos. It is worth mentioning that there are over 50 species of bird which can be seen flying in the sky towards the lake and cab act as perfect sight seeing for the visitors. It is always good to have a high resolution camera to shoot these breath taking visuals and imagine the world from your eyes instantly. People wish to come to this lake must first have to reach Uyuni by various means like by air and by bus from La Paz, Oruro, Potosi, Tupiza, Atocha, Sucre etc.

The best time to visit is the summer time and visiting hours are limited for day to avoid any mishaps in the night by the authorities. The hot springs and geysers around the lake area is also a good point to relax your self with the true spirits. There are various good options at the Uyuni town which can be easily acquired on less and high rents and can be stayed to have a perfect vacation around the natural wonder of the world known as Laguna Colorada in Bolivia. It is also worth mentioning that the sunset at this lake is also a worth to look out at and provides great visuals at Laguna Colorada.
